Laurel Burnham – Vice President
Laurel has been passionate about community organizing since she was a small child. In the thirty years she has lived in Penticton, her organizing has run the gamut from establishing Sun Village Lodge, a seniors housing facility, to founding the Penticton Community Garden, to 21 years of running Canada Day activities. She has successfully fundraised for CNIB, the Kidney Foundation, The Penticton Art Gallery and the Penticton Arts Council. She has organized events and activities in virtually every park and facility in the community. She created the Penticton Community Market, was nominated for three national awards during her time managing it. For the past 14 years she has hosted “Seedy Saturdays” in Penticton, and has now expanded to Oliver, Summerland and Peachland. She also organizes the South Okanagan’s largest Craft Fair, and is manager for two markets during the outdoor market season.
